Spanish and culture in Seville

Discover Seville inside and outside the classroom

At Giralda In&Out we believe that learning Spanish also means discovering the culture, the history and the everyday life of the city.

That is why our cultural activities in Seville combine learning and real experiences through four types of activity:

  • Monuments

Visits to discover Seville’s historical and artistic heritage.

  • Walks around the city

Cultural walks through its neighbourhoods, streets and most emblematic corners.

  • Workshops and city challenges

Hands-on activities, inside and outside the classroom, to learn Spanish in a dynamic way.

  • Day trips

Experiences to discover other places in Andalusia and deepen your contact with its culture.

In addition, our cultural calendar brings you closer to exhibitions, shows, festivals and other events that are part of life in Seville.

Because you also learn Spanish by experiencing life in Seville.

Inside and outside the classroom

Your stay, beyond Spanish

The Spanish you learn in class comes to life in the streets of Triana, in the marvellous labyrinth of the Santa Cruz quarter and in the laughter of a workshop at our school. Every walk and every visit is the chance to speak, make mistakes and try again: that way, when you go home, you take back more than learning — you take home a city you truly understand.

Spanish and culture

Culture is part of the language

A language is not learned through grammar and vocabulary alone: it is learned when you can use it in real situations, with real people, in a context that explains it. That is why our cultural activities are not an add-on, but part of the learning itself.

Walking through a neighbourhood, discussing a short film or visiting the Cathedral puts into practice what you have studied in class, reveals the customs, history and way of speaking of Seville, and builds your confidence to communicate beyond the classroom. Each activity turns what you know into what you can say.

  • Living vocabulary

Words stick when you use them to talk about something you have seen and lived.

  • Real conversation

Small-group walks and workshops to speak without fear and hear other accents.

  • Cultural context

Understanding Seville’s history and customs gives meaning to what you read and hear.
